Family gathered around an outdoor fire pit on a warm evening

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Products

What does “smokeless” actually mean?

Our fire pits use a double-wall airflow system — air enters through bottom vents, heats up between the walls, and re-ignites smoke particles as it exits the top. You’ll still see a thin wisp during the first 5–10 minutes while the fire gets hot enough, but after that the secondary burn kicks in. Most customers report 90%+ less smoke compared to a traditional pit.

How is a $149 fire pit the same quality as a $400 one?

We don’t sell through retailers. No shelf space fees, no distributor margins, no co-op advertising costs. Our Ember 19 and the big-name equivalents come from factories in the same industrial region using the same grade of 304 stainless. The difference is their 3x markup for brand marketing and retail partnerships. We ship direct from our warehouse in Reno, NV.

What fuel should I use?

Kiln-dried hardwood works best — oak, hickory, or maple with under 20% moisture content. Softwoods like pine burn fast and create more creosote. Never use treated lumber, plywood, or anything with paint or glue. For the tent stove, cut pieces to about 12″ so they feed through the door easily.

Can I use the wood stove inside a tent?

Yes, with a hot-tent setup. You’ll need a tent with a stove jack (a heat-resistant port for the chimney pipe). Our Blaze Tent Stove includes a spark arrestor and the chimney sections seal with no gaps. Always crack a vent for fresh airflow and keep a CO detector in the tent — we include one with every stove purchase.

Can I cook on the fire pit?

Absolutely. Our Grill Grate Pro ($39.99) fits all our fire pit models — just set it on top once the fire is established. We also sell rotisserie kits and cast iron accessories. The Ember 19 and Ember 24 both have flat rims designed to support cooking accessories.

Do you ship internationally?

Not yet. We currently ship to the contiguous 48 US states. We’re working on expanding to Canada and Alaska/Hawaii — sign up for our email list to get notified when we do.

Can I change or cancel my order?

If your order hasn’t shipped yet, email support@naturestove.com and we’ll make the change. Once it’s shipped, you’ll need to wait for delivery and then initiate a return if needed.

Returns & Warranty

What’s the return policy?

30 days, no questions. Light it, use it, decide it’s not for you — send it back and we cover return shipping on your first order. Refund processes within 5–7 business days after we receive the item. See our full Shipping & Returns policy for details.

What does the warranty cover?

Our 2-year limited warranty covers structural failure, rust-through, weld defects, and component failure under normal use. Surface discoloration from heat is normal and not covered — that’s just your fire pit earning its character. No registration required.
